studio (un)scripted: 5 questions with jeremy batiste.

JEREMY BATISTE, LIFE, HEALTH AND RECOVERY COACH (and also the most sincere human in the world who everyone needs in their corner.)

The studio is my happy place, where is yours?

My happy place is often anywhere in nature; a place where I can tap into the peace & serenity of it with very few man made distractions. I enjoy the natural pace of the Earth versus the busy lifestyles we lead to make ends meet.

You are an amazing advocate for total transparency and candor. You speak very openly about your life — be it the good, the bad, the beautiful, the ugly, the successes and the struggles — you are generous with your honesty. I respect that immensely and I am curious to know what inspires that courage for you?

Throughout my journey in life, I have learned so much in the process of growing as an actor. Everything from public speaking tactics, to connecting to my breath and inner life, to understanding advanced psychology; all of these learnings combined have helped to make me very comfortable feeling fearless in front of people. I also recently began seeking radical authenticity/truth through my own personal deep dive into spirituality.

In that same regard, you work very hard at the things you commit your time to. Some examples include your acting work, your dedication to fitness and wellness, and your love for your family. What makes you so passionate to always deliver your full self in what you do.

My mind works a lot like an engineer’s does – I need to know the ins-and-outs of why things work and/or don’t work. I gather loads of information on whatever it may be, and over time I can assimilate real-life experience with all of the data I’ve collected to intuitively express my educated guesses. I am essentially a nerd, if you will. I love to learn and grow, even around my mistakes. I’m also not afraid to fail anymore.

Recently, you started an Instagram Live series, where during your daily walks you answer questions submitted from viewers. Where did this idea come from and what is the realest question you’ve been asked so far? How did you respond to it?

It was actually so random. I was gifted a new microphone for my phone and while I was testing it out, I thought to myself, “I should take this on my walk and play with it” so the next time I was on my walk, I hit the “live” button on my personal IG and to my surprise a small number of people started showing up and asking questions. I have to say it has been a lot of fun for me.

The realest question I’ve been asked so far is, “how do you deal with stress management? That was a gem for my current state of being as it got me wondering, in the moment, about how I actually deal with stress management.

If you could ask me anything, what would it be?

How is your head (mental health) and how is your heart (intuitive wellness)?
